Background:
In the Huánuco region of Peru, where extreme poverty and a history of conflict have left communities vulnerable, children and youth face heightened risks of sexual violence. Resources for justice and restoration are scarce, especially in rural areas, leaving survivors without essential support. The regional office of Paz Peru has over two decades of experience providing holistic care to survivors, including counseling, accompaniment through the legal processes, educational and spiritual support, advocacy and community-based prevention initiatives.

Give today to ensure ongoing, life-changing support for child survivors of sexual violence while expanding prevention activities that address systemic risks and cultivate safer communities. God doesn't forget these children, and neither will we.

Make an Impact today:

  • $30 a month provides transportation for a girl to counseling therapy and appointments in the legal process for that month.
  • $85 a month provides monthly (individual and group) counseling sessions for a child/teen survivor.
  • $200 a month provides for refreshments at counseling sessions each month for the whole cohort of children/teens.
  • $675 provides for a month of a trained psychologist providing Christian counseling for 10 girls (including home visits, on-call holistic support, and group sessions).
  • $2,100 provides the annual materials and supplies for the Mom's Support Group for equipping parents to navigate the process and pain their daughters are experiencing after sexual violence and trafficking.

Expected Results:

  • Sustain and expand therapy for 15-20 survivors annually, providing individual, group, and eco-therapy sessions.
  • Equip 20-30 parents each year with tools to support their children’s healing.
  • Implement robust prevention efforts, including equipping communities to identify and address risk factors.
  • Ensure financial stability for Paz Huanuco’s critical services, enabling the team to plan and grow the impact.
